Lillypad sat cross-legged on her bedroom floor, a colorful jigsaw puzzle spread out before her like a chaotic, fragmented rainbow. The pieces, each no bigger than her thumbnail, were a jumble of blues, greens, yellows, and reds, their edges frustratingly similar. This was Task Number Five, a puzzle of patience, Cathy had called it. Lillypad had expected a quest, maybe a daring rescue or a journey through a whispering forest, not this – a test of quiet determination.

She picked up a piece, a sliver of sky blue with a hint of cloud. Where did it go? Her fingers traced the jagged edges, searching for a match. Her mind wandered back to Cathy, the star cat with eyes like polished obsidian and fur that shimmered with distant galaxies. Lillypad could still feel the warmth of Cathy’s purr in her dream, the gentle rumble that had vibrated through her very being. "Patience, little one," Cathy’s voice, like the chime of tiny bells, had echoed in her slumber. "Not all magic is grand gestures. Some is found in the quiet unfolding of things, in the slow, steady work of bringing order from chaos."
