The Grumpy Knight
Their arrival is met by Sir Reginald Grumbles, a knight whose frown is as formidable as his armor. He's clearly not enjoying the festivities, blocking Pip and Lily's path.
The cacophony of the feast, a swirling vortex of lute music, booming laughter, and the clatter of pewter mugs, abruptly faltered as Professor Pip and Lily materialized. They tumbled out of the time machine not with a gentle landing, but with a rather undignified heap of limbs and tweed. The air, thick with the scent of roasted boar and uncorked ale, seemed to momentarily hold its breath.
Before they could even untangle themselves, a shadow fell over them, vast and imposing. Standing before them, a figure of grim disapproval, was a knight. His armor, polished to a menacing gleam, seemed to absorb the light rather than reflect it. A magnificent, drooping mustache adorned his upper lip, perfectly mirroring the downward curve of his mouth. This, Pip realized with a jolt, was Sir Reginald Grumbles. His frown was indeed formidable, a chasm etched into his weathered face. He looked less like he was attending a feast and more like he was guarding a particularly sad graveyard.
"Halt!" boomed a voice that sounded like gravel being scraped across a stone floor. Sir Reginald’s gauntleted hand shot out, stopping Professor Pip mid-scramble. "What manner of sorcery is this? And who dares interrupt the King's merriment with such… unseemly arrivals?"
