Following the map's final clues, Elara and Lyra find Morthos's shadowy domain. He attempts to trap them, revealing his envy of genuine happiness and his desire to hoard it.

The air grew heavy, thick with a stillness that was more oppressive than any storm. The vibrant greens of the forest seemed to bleed into a uniform, suffocating grey, and the cheerful chirping of birds gave way to an unnerving silence. Elara clutched the worn parchment, its final markings a series of jagged lines that led not to a sun-drenched clearing, but to the maw of a gnarled, ancient cavern. Beside her, Lyra, usually a whirlwind of giggles and flitting wings, pressed close, her tiny form trembling.

"It feels… wrong, Elara," Lyra whispered, her voice barely a breath against the encroaching gloom. "Like a forgotten song that curdles in the throat."

Elara nodded, her own heart a nervous drum against her ribs. The map had promised the end of the Everlasting Course, a final destination. But this place… this place felt like a beginning, a dark and terrible one. The final clue, a cryptic symbol resembling a coiled serpent devouring its own tail, had led them to this desolate ridge overlooking a valley shrouded in perpetual twilight.
