The last ripple of the Chronos Shard’s light had faded, leaving behind an unnerving silence in the chamber. Elias stood amidst the stunned figures of the Aethelgard and the Umbrae, their faces etched with a mosaic of disbelief, anger, and a dawning, terrible understanding. The air, thick with the dust of ages and shattered convictions, felt heavy, almost breathable, pressing down on them all. He had laid bare the truth, not as a hero's triumphant saga nor a villain's dark confession, but as the intricate, agonizing tapestry of choices and consequences that had defined him so long ago. He was not the unwavering light the Aethelgard had worshipped, nor the absolute shadow the Umbrae had reviled. He was simply Elias, a man who had tried, and in trying, had irrevocably altered the course of a world.

Aethelgard High Elder Lyra, her silver hair disheveled, her eyes hollow, was the first to stir. She moved not with her usual stately grace, but with the clumsy gait of someone recently blinded. Her gaze, when it finally settled on Elias, held no accusation, only a profound, heartbreaking emptiness. "All these centuries," she whispered, her voice a dry rustle of leaves, "we built our world on a fractured image. A lie, in its completeness."

Kaelen, the Umbrae’s leader, his face still contorted from the raw fury of the revelation, slammed a fist against a crumbling pillar. Stone dust rained down. "So, we were right to fear you, but for all the wrong reasons. A betrayer, yes, but not of malice. Of... desperation. What difference does it make? The world still burned." His words were harsh, but the venom had been replaced by a bitter, bewildered frustration. The stark simplicity of their hatred had been replaced by a messy, human truth, and Kaelen seemed to wrestle with the discomfort of it.
