The air in the Grand Assembly Hall of Aethelgard Keep was thick with anticipation, a palpable hum of hundreds of breaths held in unison. Sunlight, fractured and diffused by the stained-glass depiction of the Eon-Bound Ascendant, cast jewel-toned motes across the polished obsidian floor. Elias stood at the dais, the Chronos Shard clutched so tightly in his palm that its rough, crystalline edges bit into his flesh. The weight of the world, or at least the world as these people knew it, rested on his shoulders. Before him, the Aethelgard elders, robed in pristine white, sat on elevated benches, their faces a mixture of expectation and quiet reverence. To his left, concealed in the shadows of an alcove, he could sense the restless energy of the Umbrae contingent, their dark cloaks barely visible against the stone. Their presence was a concession, a fragile truce brokered by the Shard's activation, a desperate hope for answers that transcended their bitter feud.

Elias’s gaze swept over the Assembly, seeing not just the faces, but the generations of belief etched into their features. He cleared his throat, the sound unnaturally loud in the hushed chamber. “You know me as the Eon-Bound,” he began, his voice deeper than he remembered, resonant with the echoes of ages. “Or perhaps you know me as the destroyer, the harbinger. Today, you will know me as Elias. And I am here to tell you the truth of what transpired eons ago.”
