The echo of two hearts, a melody she’d tried so hard to silence, had found a way to resonate, to manifest, to demand its own existence.

Months had passed since the unspoken farewell. The stolen moments, the whispered confessions, the exquisite ache of shared longing – all of it had been carefully packed away, interred beneath the mundane routines of her life. She’d returned to Mark, to the quiet predictability of their marriage, a marriage that had once felt like a comfortable, worn sweater, but now seemed threadbare, lacking the warmth she’d discovered elsewhere.
