The world, once painted in the bold, unwavering strokes of Ra’s golden light, now shimmered with a softer, more ethereal hue. It was as if the very air had learned to breathe in gentle sighs, carrying the scent of lotus blossoms and the distant hum of unseen energies. Khepri found himself walking through these newly painted landscapes, his sandals crunching on sands that seemed to absorb sound, making each step feel like a secret shared only with the wind. The vibrant greens of the Nile’s banks pulsed with a life that felt both familiar and strangely alien, as if the earth itself was dreaming.

He remembered the boisterous, undeniable presence of Ra, the sun god whose warmth was a constant, comforting embrace. Now, that embrace had thinned, becoming a delicate touch, a whispered memory. Yet, in this very fading, Khepri sensed a new kind of power awakening. It wasn't the roaring blaze of Ra, but a quiet, persistent melody woven into the fabric of existence. He had been so focused on the catastrophic loss of Ra’s power, so consumed by the overwhelming presence of Isis, that he had nearly missed the subtle echoes that remained.

These echoes weren’t sounds, not exactly. They were more like feelings, like the faint warmth on his skin after the sun had set, or the way a familiar scent could conjure a forgotten memory. They guided him, not with a clear path, but with a gentle nudge, a sense of direction that settled deep within his bones. He found himself drawn to places where the light, even in its diminished state, seemed to linger a little longer – ancient obelisks that still held a faint shimmer, or the smooth, cool stones of forgotten temples.
