Beneath the Surface

The air in Kai’s apartment was thick with the scent of sandalwood and something uniquely him, a musky warmth that had become as familiar to me as the worn leather of my favorite armchair. We lay tangled in the sheets, the aftermath of our shared passion still humming between us. It was one of those nights, rare and precious, where the lines we’d so carefully drawn had begun to blur with an almost imperceptible grace. We had started this dance with a clear understanding, a pact of no strings, no expectations, just the honest, unvarnished pleasure of physical connection.
