The soft glow of the bedside lamp cast a warm circle around us, illuminating the quiet intimacy of our bedroom. Kai’s hand, strong and familiar, rested on my swollen belly, his thumb tracing gentle circles against my skin. I leaned my head against his shoulder, breathing in the comforting scent of him, a mix of sandalwood and something uniquely Kai.
