Here, beneath its somber canopy, the weight of her unspoken grief felt a fraction lighter, a solitary star momentarily shielded from the consuming void.

Liam found her there, a solitary figure etched against the deepening shadows. He had learned to anticipate her movements, these quiet pilgrimages to the willow’s embrace. There was a shared understanding that bloomed between them, a silent language woven from stolen glances and the comfortable cadence of shared silence. He approached not with a question, but with the steady presence of one who understood the need for quiet companionship.

“The sky looks heavy,” he said, his voice a low murmur that did not disturb the stillness. He stopped a respectful distance away, his gaze not fixed on her, but on the distant horizon, as if reading the portents in the clouds.
