Chapter 4
Courage in the Crystal Caves
Flicker ventures into the dark Crystal Caves. It's spooky and filled with strange echoes. He feels fear creeping in, but he pushes forward, relying on his growing courage. He realizes that even without his fire, he can be brave and face his fears. He discovers his inner strength is growing.

A faint light flickered in the distance, and I followed it, my steps faltering more than once. The cave twisted and turned, its walls shimmering with a thousand tiny points of light. They weren't firelight, not like my own used to be, but a soft, ethereal glow that seemed to emanate from the very rock. Crystals. Thousands upon thousands of them, growing in jagged clusters, smooth and polished, spiky and sharp. They caught the dim light from my eyes, multiplying it, scattering it in a dazzling, disorienting display.
