Eeeeek said the Puppies...

“Eeeeek!” the puppies yelped in unison, their tails tucking between their legs as a new, startling fact was introduced. Miss Lily, ever the patient educator, smiled reassuringly. “Now, now,” she soothed, her voice a gentle balm against their sudden alarm. “It’s true that many animals we see today have connections to dinosaurs, but that doesn't mean they’re the same. Think about it like this,” she continued, her gaze sweeping across their wide, questioning eyes. “Sharks, for example. They’re amazing creatures, aren’t they? So powerful, so ancient. But did you know that the sharks we see swimming in the ocean today came from much, much larger fish that lived in the very, very early days of our planet? Long before even the dinosaurs were around!”

The word 'sharks' sparked a different kind of curiosity, one less about fear and more about the sheer wonder of the underwater world. Baby Blue, his initial fright subsiding, tilted his head. “Bigger than a whale, Miss Lily?” he asked, his voice a soft curiosity.

Teddy, ever the diligent student, chimed in, “So, they’re not dinosaurs, but they’re related to even older things?”
