The air, thick with the acrid smell of ozone and something sickly sweet, pressed in on me. It tasted like ash and regret. Around me, the world was a kaleidoscope of chaos: buildings crumbled like sandcastles, screams tore through the air, and the very earth seemed to shudder under the onslaught of clashing powers.
