Following fragmented clues and Madelyn's memory of old tales, the siblings venture towards the Whispering Woods. Strange, playful energy seems to guide their path, hinting at something magical.

The air in the Whispering Woods hummed with an energy Paris had never felt before. It wasn’t the familiar buzz of insects or the rustle of leaves, but something deeper, more vibrant, like the forest itself was breathing a secret song. Sunlight, still stubbornly high in the sky, dappled through the thick canopy, painting shifting patterns on the mossy ground. Paris, with Alex and Madelyn trailing close behind, felt a prickle of anticipation crawl up her spine. This was it. This was where the answers to the never-ending day might lie.

“Are you sure about this, Madelyn?” Alex asked, his voice a little too loud in the hushed woods. He kicked at a fallen pinecone, sending it skittering across the path. Despite his bravado, Paris noticed his eyes darting around nervously. The endless daylight, which had initially been a cause for joyous celebration, was starting to feel a little… unsettling.

Madelyn, ever the thoughtful one, smoothed down the front of her shorts. “The stories always mentioned the Whispering Woods when people talked about strange happenings in summer. And Nana always said the woods held old magic.” She paused, a faint smile touching her lips. “She used to tell me about a hidden grove, where the oldest trees grew, and where… well, where things could get a little topsy-turvy.”
