Kael reveals fragments of the realm's history, hinting at a cataclysmic event tied to the shadow entity's origin. Lyra realizes his secrets are deeply intertwined with the realm.
The air in Kael’s study was thick with the scent of ancient parchment and something else… something metallic, like old blood. It clung to the velvet drapes, seeped into the polished obsidian desk, and seemed to whisper from the very stones of the room. I traced the intricate carvings on a towering bookshelf, each symbol a riddle I couldn't yet decipher. Kael watched me, his eyes the colour of a stormy twilight, a storm I was slowly becoming accustomed to, even drawn to.
“You seem restless, Lyra,” he murmured, his voice a low rumble that vibrated through the silence. He sat behind his desk, a single, impossibly old tome open before him, its pages brittle and yellowed.
“Just… thinking,” I replied, turning to face him. The flickering candlelight cast dancing shadows across his sculpted features, making him appear both ancient and impossibly vital. “About everything. About this place. About… you.”
