The Malfunctioning Map
Leo's latest gadget, meant to be a map, leads them in circles. Pixel’s misinterpretation of a command causes a funny detour.
The musty smell of the old community building clung to their clothes like a second skin. Mia unfurled the explorer’s notebook, its pages brittle with age, and tapped the familiar, cryptic symbol on the seventh page. A faint shimmer rippled across the parchment, and a new clue bloomed into existence: a sketched image of a compass, its needle spinning wildly, next to a series of nonsensical doodles that looked suspiciously like a squirrel trying to juggle acorns.
"A malfunctioning map," Sam declared, peering over Mia's shoulder. "Fascinating. The concept of an unreliable navigational tool has plagued explorers for centuries. Think of Magellan’s crew, possibly lost due to a faulty astrolabe…"
"Or Leo's 'Auto-Pilot Pizza Delivery Drone' that ended up dropping pepperoni on Mrs. Higgins' prize-winning petunias," Zoe chimed in, giggling.
