Sam works to decode the message, realizing it's related to a specific astronomical event. Mia urges them to hurry.
The air in the abandoned observatory was thick with the scent of dust and forgotten starlight. Moonlight, fractured by the grimy panes of the dome, cast long, skeletal shadows across the room. Sam, hunched over the explorer’s notebook, his brow furrowed in concentration, traced the newly revealed symbols with a fingertip. Beside him, Mia paced with an energy that vibrated through the floorboards, her gaze flicking from Sam to the notebook and back again. Leo fiddled with a loose wire on his perpetually sputtering ‘Astro-Locator 5000’, while Zoe sat cross-legged, gently stroking Pixel’s metallic arm, her eyes wide with a mixture of awe and apprehension.
“It’s not just a code, Mia,” Sam murmured, his voice barely a whisper against the vast silence. “It’s… celestial. Look.” He pointed to a series of intricate curves and dots that mirrored the constellations Leo had been so fascinated by during their previous adventure. “These aren't random markings. They correspond to specific star patterns, but not as we see them now. It’s… temporal.”
Mia stopped pacing, her eyes narrowing. “Temporal? You mean… like time?”
