The air in my room felt thick with the hum of my computer, a familiar sound that usually soothed me. But tonight, it felt like a low growl, a restless energy vibrating through the floorboards. Elara's words from our last meeting echoed in my mind, not just her pronouncements about nano cents and games, but the way she’d paused, her eyes, usually so bright with amusement, darkening for a fleeting second. "There are architects behind every digital doorway, Alex," she’d said, her voice barely a whisper, "and some build with more than just code."
Architects. The word conjured images of grand blueprints, of designs meticulously laid out. But in the context of this strange crypto puzzle, it felt different, more shadowy, like someone pulling strings in a puppet show I hadn't even realized I was a part of. Ben had been unusually quiet after our last talk.
