Chapter 9
The Path Diverges
The betrayal forces Kael to make a critical decision. He must choose between the safety of his friends and the pursuit of the truth about the Crown of Elarion, knowing his choice will have far-reaching consequences.

Kael’s gaze drifted to Lyra’s bandaged arm, a stark reminder of the ambush. The shadows, the whispers, the sudden, brutal attack – it all coalesced into a single, damning truth: someone had known. Someone had led them into that trap. The memory of Seraphina’s evasive answers, her almost too-perfect composure in the aftermath, played on repeat in his mind. Could it have been her? The thought was a cold dread in his gut.
