Leo, no longer guarded, shares his vision for a future with Cecilia. The antique shop, once his solitary refuge, is now a space for their shared life.

The air in the antique shop, usually thick with the scent of old paper and polished wood, felt lighter, almost effervescent, that afternoon. It was as if the very dust motes dancing in the shafts of sunlight streaming through the tall, arched windows were celebrating. Leo’s hand, warm and firm, was still clasped in mine, and the lingering tremor of his confession still resonated between us. The “why” of his hesitation, the shadows that had clung to him like cobwebs, had finally been swept away, revealing the man I had always sensed beneath the layers of reserve.

He turned to me, his eyes, those deep pools I had so often gotten lost in, now shining with a raw, unvarnished emotion. Gone was the guarded flicker, replaced by an open adoration that made my heart swell. “Cecilia,” he began, his voice a low rumble, filled with a tenderness that sent shivers down my spine, “I… I never thought I’d find this. Not again. Not ever.”

I squeezed his hand, offering him a soft smile. “You don’t have to be afraid anymore, Leo.”
