Chapter 10
Daydrum's Fury
Prince Daydrum leads Infernus's charge with unbridled rage. His arrogance masks a growing unease, but his loyalty to his mother drives him to crush any who stand in their way.
The air crackled with the raw, untamed energy of Prince Daydrum’s fury. It was a storm unleashed, a tempest of righteous indignation that swept across the blood-soaked plains separating Infernus from the coalescing forces of the United Front. Daydrum, astride his obsidian warhorse, Seraph, was a figure of terrifying beauty, his gilded armor gleaming like a freshly drawn sword, his crimson cape billowing like a banner of pure war. His laughter, sharp and wild, echoed across the battlefield, a prelude to the carnage he intended to sow.
“They dare defy us?” he roared, his voice amplified by some unseen magic, a cruel challenge flung at the enemy lines. “These pathetic remnants of broken kingdoms? They think their flimsy alliances can stand against the might of Infernus? Against the will of my mother, Queen Cynika?”
His words were met with a guttural roar from the Infernus legions, a wave of sound that threatened to drown out the very cries of the wounded. Daydrum reveled in it, in the power that flowed from his mother’s throne, in the unshakeable belief that Infernus was destined to rule. Yet, beneath the veneer of arrogant confidence, a subtle tremor ran through him. The unified front, led by the deceptively gentle Elder Lyra, had proven more resilient, more determined than he had anticipated. Their banners, once scattered and tattered, now flew with a defiant unity, a tapestry of defiance woven from the disparate threads of grief and hope.
