The village is calm thanks to Ed, Ed's attention turned to Jason, Ed asked Felix about him, Felix told him that he turned up here lost and we took him in, he explained that Jason didn't know how he got here, Galen called for Ed and to show him the plan for layia's sword, asking if he approves.
The village settled slowly, like dust after a storm. Mothers called their children home. Men righted barrels and swept the square. Ed stood in the center, his sword sheathed, his black cloak still warm from the fight.
Layia stayed close, her new pendant gleaming against her chest. "That was amazing, Ed! You moved so fast! Did you see their faces when you knocked that one down?"
"I saw," Ed said, but his eyes were elsewhere.
