Angel Solis reveals herself to Ed and Layia warning them the trouble from his past is returning, Jason helps lilly and Felix, Sofia asks Ed for a favour.
The cheering had barely faded from the square when Layia spun around with her new shield held high, making the painted sun fling little sparkles across the well stones.
“I’m ready for dragons!” she announced. “Or at least for very confused chickens.”
The children laughed. Siri, peeking from behind Lilly, let out a tiny giggle. But Ed did not laugh. He stood near the well, one hand resting on the hilt of his ancient sword, staring at the empty air where Mystica had vanished. His smile had gone soft and far away.
