The air thrummed with an urgency that had nothing to do with Elara’s tired muscles or the gnawing hunger in her belly. It was the sky, a canvas of deepening indigo that bled into bruised purples at the horizon, that dictated the frantic pace. The stars, once distant companions on her journey, now felt like relentless pursuers, each twinkling eye a silent countdown. Chapter Six had ended with the chilling pronouncement of the impending celestial alignment, the very convergence that King Theron’s fate, and perhaps the kingdom’s, was inextricably bound to. Now, Elara was in a race against time, a race against the very heavens, and more pressingly, against Lord Cassian and his ever-present shadows.

Master Valerius’s words echoed in her mind, a stern, urgent whisper: "The Serpent Nebula will begin its descent within three dawns. If you are not at the Sanctuary before the Eye opens, the prophecy will be unleashed." Three dawns. That was all Elara had. She’d left the hidden enclave of the Guardians, her heart a knot of resolve and fear, with a renewed sense of purpose but also a heavy burden. The map, once a cryptic puzzle, now pulsed with a desperate clarity, its lines and symbols guiding her through the rugged, unforgiving terrain of the Serpent’s Tooth mountains.

The path ahead was a treacherous ascent, a labyrinth of jagged peaks and sheer drops. Elara moved with a practiced agility born of necessity. Her worn leather boots found purchase on loose scree, her hands, calloused and strong, gripped icy rock faces. The wind, a constant, biting companion, whipped her auburn hair across her face, blurring her vision, but she pressed on, her focus unwavering. She saw the glint of metal in the distance, a flicker of movement that sent a jolt of adrenaline through her. Cassian’s men. They were closer than she’d anticipated, their pursuit relentless.
