The precinct hummed with its usual cacophony, a symphony of ringing phones, clacking keyboards, and the low murmur of officers discussing their latest cases. She hadn’t slept properly in days. Her desk was a testament to her singular focus: a chaotic landscape of case files, half-eaten sandwiches, and a teetering tower of empty coffee cups. Every spare moment had been dedicated to tracing the peculiar movements of the teacups, a chase that had led her through dusty antique shops, hushed library archives, and even the surprisingly secretive world of competitive floral arrangement.
