The air thrummed with an energy that vibrated not just in my ears, but in my very bones. It was a wild, untamed song, the raw essence of magic, amplified a thousandfold. We had followed the Obsidian Hand’s trail to this place, a cavernous chamber deep beneath the earth, where the very stone seemed to pulse with the residual power of the First Spell. The Cartographer’s Charm, clutched tight in my hand, felt like a beacon, its whispers now a deafening roar in my mind.

Before us, a swirling vortex of pure, unadulterated magic pulsed at the center of the chamber. It was beautiful and terrifying, a maelstrom of light and shadow that promised both creation and utter annihilation. This was the Nexus, the point where the First Spell’s echo was strongest, and it was where Mike intended to unleash his twisted vision of order.

He stood before the vortex, a figure of imposing darkness, his obsidian robes seeming to absorb the very light that fought to escape the churning energy. The sigil on his chest, a jagged symbol that I’d seen in my nightmares, glowed with an infernal light, mirroring the fragmented images that haunted my waking hours. Beside him, a phalanx of Obsidian Hand enforcers stood at rigid attention, their faces grim and impassive.
