Chapter 6
Unveiling the Unseen
The mystery deepens, revealing a secret woven into the school's fabric. Eleanor's cap proves to be more than a shield; it's a key to understanding the subtle forces at play.
The air in the library, usually thick with the comforting scent of old paper and quiet concentration, felt strangely charged. Eleanor, hunched over a book about ancient maps, felt a prickle on the back of her neck, a familiar sensation that always preceded something… odd. Her baseball cap, pulled low as always, seemed to absorb the unease, its worn fabric a familiar weight against her brow. Eleanor’s eyes, trained to notice the minute shifts others missed, flickered to the shelves. She hadn't consciously registered it, but now that Alex mentioned it, a faint unease settled in her stomach. The mythology section *did* seem a little more crowded, as if a few extra books had materialized overnight. It was the sort of thing that could be explained away – a misfiled donation, a forgotten return – but coupled with the other strange occurrences, it felt like another thread in the tangled knot of mystery.
