Chapter 4
Kindling the Inner Light
Under Hemlock's patient guidance, Elara begins to understand his starlight. He learns to focus its energy, not to banish it, but to weave it into his actions. His whimsical thoughts transform into sparks of creativity, bringing a touch of magic.
The air in Elara’s small room still hummed with the lingering magic of the night. As he blinked his eyes open, the familiar, shimmering dust of starlight swirled behind his eyelids, a gentle nebula of wonder. It wasn’t a dream that faded with the dawn, but a constant, luminous presence that painted his inner world. A soft sigh escaped him, a sound tinged with both frustration and a curious delight. It was always like this. The ordinary world, for Elara, was a canvas constantly being re-painted by the cosmos.
Downstairs, his mother was already tending to the hearth, the scent of woodsmoke and baking bread a comforting anchor in his swirling mind. “Elara, dear, the porridge is ready,” she called, her voice warm and steady.
