Chapter 18
Healing the Wounds
The community begins to recover, but the scars of the Valpyr's influence and the '11/11 Awakening' remain, prompting reflection.
The air tasted different now, lighter, as if a great weight had been lifted from the world. The Valpyr’s whispers are faint now, but the echoes of regret remain, a reminder of the darkness we have faced.” She sat with me often, her gnarled hands steady as she stirred a pot of fragrant herbal tea, the steam curling upwards like a silent prayer. Her own sorrow, a deep, quiet river, seemed to have subsided, replaced by a serene acceptance.
