Eleanor and Rossi return to the motel to plan, but the Devourer's influence escalates. A tense visit to Mr. Croft and a terrifying encounter at the house force Eleanor to accept that her only option is to confront the entity, leading to a final, irreversible decision.
The motel room felt smaller than it had the night before. Eleanor sat on the edge of the bed, her phone clutched in her hand, the screen dark now. Rossi stood by the window, her arms crossed, watching the parking lot as if expecting something to emerge from the thin morning light.
"We need to think about this logically," Rossi said, not turning around. "She's been hiding for thirty years. She could be lying."
"She knew things, Rossi. Things only Amelia could know."
