Chapter 5
The Altar of Truth
Silas cornered me in the old ruins mentioned in the journal, his face a mask of impatience and greed. He demanded the location of the treasure, his threats laced with menace. But as he spoke of chests of gold, I held up the journal, my voice steady. I explained the true treasure, the principle of selfless giving, the worship found in offering not just possessions, but one's heart. Silas scoffed, unable to comprehend. In that moment, surrounded by crumbling stone and the weight of ancient wisdom, the confrontation reached its climax. His greed was laid bare, while the spiritual revelation became my victory, a far greater prize than he could ever imagine.

Then, a shadow fell. It was Silas, his presence as unwelcome as a serpent in a dove’s nest. He strode towards me, his boots crunching on the debris, his eyes, hard and calculating, fixed on the journal in my hands. A cruel smile stretched his lips, a predatory gleam in their depths.
"Well, well," he drawled, his voice a low rumble that seemed to vibrate through the stones. "Fancy meeting you here, Paul. Looks like you’ve finally found what we’ve both been searching for."
