Starry's Toy Chase

My heart did a little flip-flop when I heard the doorbell ring. That must be Luna! I smoothed down my dress, a little nervous but mostly bursting with excitement. Mom opened the door, and there she was, Luna Cutie, with her long, flowing brown hair and eyes as blue as the summer sky. And right beside her, looking just as eager, were two fluffy balls of white: Snowy, the big cat, and Starry, the tiny kitten.

“Mary!” Luna giggled, her voice like tiny bells. “I’m here!”

I practically bounced down the stairs. “Luna! You’re here! And you brought them!” I pointed at Snowy and Starry, who were already sniffing the air with twitching noses. Snowy, with his sleek white fur and emerald eyes, looked regal and a little bit mischievous. Starry, a tiny puffball with bright blue eyes that matched Luna’s, was already wiggling with energy.
