Until Next Time!

The last golden rays of the sun were stretching long shadows across Mary’s living room, painting everything in a warm, honeyed glow. It was the kind of light that always made Mary feel a little bit sad when a fun day was coming to a close, but also full of happy memories. Luna was carefully placing Snowy and Starry back into their cozy travel carrier, their little faces peeking out with sleepy blinks. Snowy, ever the explorer, had managed to climb halfway up the curtains earlier in the day, and Starry, with her boundless energy, had discovered the joy of batting at dust bunnies under the sofa. They’d had quite the adventure, those two!

“Oh, Snowy, Starry, you were such good explorers today!” Luna cooed, her fingers gently stroking Snowy’s soft fur as he settled down. Starry, already curled up beside her brother, let out a tiny, contented purr. Mary watched them, a little ache in her chest that she knew was a mix of missing her friend and wishing she could have a furry companion of her own. Snowy and Starry were just so wonderful, so full of life and personality.

Luna zipped up the carrier, the soft fabric making a gentle rustle. She turned to Mary, her blue eyes sparkling even in the fading light. “We’ll have to visit again really, really soon, Mary,” she said, her voice full of promise. “Snowy and Starry loved exploring your house, and I loved showing them to you.”
