Imagining Adventures

My heart was doing a little happy dance in my chest. Luna was here! Her car had pulled up just a few minutes ago, and the moment the door opened, two blurs of white fur had shot out and into my house. Snowy, with his sleek, elegant way of moving, and Starry, a tiny ball of fluff bouncing with sheer excitement, had immediately started exploring. Luna had called after them, a little bit of worry in her voice that I knew about from our last chat. "Snowy! Starry! Be good!"

I watched them dart under the sofa, their little tails twitching like busy question marks. Luna had her long brown hair tied back in a ponytail, and her bright blue eyes were scanning the room, a mix of excitement and that familiar, slightly anxious look. I knew what she was thinking – would they behave? Would they break anything? I really, really hoped they wouldn't. More than anything, I hoped they would be okay, because seeing Luna happy made me happy, and seeing her pets happy made me… well, it made me wish I had pets of my own.

"They're so fast!" I giggled, pointing as Snowy leaped onto the windowsill, peering out at my garden with intense curiosity. Starry, meanwhile, had discovered the fluffy rug in the living room and was rolling around on it, kicking her little paws in the air.
