She stood before me, no longer cloaked in the seductive shadows that had so cunningly masked her true nature. Her eyes, once pools reflecting the cold, calculating depths of the abyss, now held a flicker of something akin to wonder, a dawning light that mirrored the one I felt stirring within me. Her name, or what she had called herself then, felt like a cruel jest now. It was a beautiful name, whispered on the wind, but it belonged to a phantom, a construct of deception. I had seen beyond the facade, through the veils of illusion, and had found the truth of her soul.

"You… you saw me," she breathed, her voice a soft murmur, the sharpness of her former self dulled, replaced by a vulnerability that tugged at a place deep within me.

"I saw the soul beneath," I replied, my own voice steadier than I might have expected. The spiritual revelation had been more than just a victory; it had been a profound awakening, a clarification of sight that extended beyond the physical. "The light that was always there, buried deep."
