Chapter 12
A Forest Aglow
The glowing flowers spread their light throughout the woods. Other forest creatures are drawn to the beautiful spectacle. The darkness recedes, replaced by a gentle, magical radiance, bringing joy to all.
The first rays of dawn were just beginning to paint the sky with soft hues of pink and gold when Barnaby and Pip surveyed their handiwork. The seeds, nestled snugly in the earth, had responded to the moonlight and their own hopeful energy. Tiny sprouts, no bigger than a dewdrop, had pushed through the soil, and from these, delicate stems were unfurling, reaching towards the nascent light. It was a soft, gentle glow, like captured fireflies, and it pulsed with a quiet, magical rhythm.
Pip, her tail twitching with excitement, nudged Barnaby with her nose. "Look, Barnaby! They're glowing! Just like the map said!" Her voice was a delighted squeak, full of wonder.
Barnaby’s big green eyes, usually so observant, were wide with awe. He’d seen many marvels in his short life, but this… this was something else entirely. The gentle light seemed to whisper secrets of the forest, of stars fallen to earth, of dreams made visible. He wagged his tail, a slow, happy thump against the dewy grass. "They’re beautiful, Pip. Truly beautiful."
