Chapter 10
Seeds of Starlight
Pip, ever curious, nudges a seed. It pulses with light. Barnaby realizes these are no ordinary seeds; they are magical! They carefully collect the seeds, wondering what wonders they will grow.
Pip, her tail twitching with an excitement that rivaled the most vibrant butterfly’s flutter, nudged a small, smooth object with her nose. It lay nestled amongst the shimmering dew-kissed leaves, catching the dappled sunlight like a tiny captured star. “Barnaby, look!” she chirped, her voice a cascade of delighted squeaks.
Barnaby, his big green eyes wide with wonder, padded closer. He had been marveling at the extraordinary clearing, a place so unlike any other in Whispering Woods. The air hummed with a gentle magic, and the very ground seemed to glow with an inner luminescence. But Pip’s discovery was something entirely new. The object she’d nudged wasn't a pebble, nor a fallen berry. It was small, oval, and felt strangely warm to the touch. As Barnaby peered at it, a faint, pulsing light emanated from within. It was a soft, ethereal glow, like a firefly caught in a moonbeam.
“It’s… it’s glowing, Pip!” Barnaby breathed, his tail giving a tentative thump-thump against the soft moss. He cautiously extended a paw, his claws carefully retracted, and brushed against the little object. It was smooth, almost polished, and the light intensified for a moment before settling back into its gentle rhythm.
