Valerie sat at the head of the table, her presence a cool, unwavering force. Her gaze, as always, was sharp, dissecting, and I braced myself for the familiar sting of her assessment. The VS Company executives around her, a sea of impeccably tailored suits and impassive faces, mirrored her stillness.
