Chapter 10: The Final Plan
John creates a structured plan, listing known facts. He and Michel find a letter from the device's creator, stating the finder must choose to reveal or protect the truth. The device activates again, showing a message from the past addressed to John.
I decided I needed a real plan. No more random searching. No more guessing. No more walking into mysteries without thinking. My life was already a disaster, and I didn’t need to add ‘incompetent investigator’ to the list. I grabbed my trusty notebook, the one that had been through more than its fair share of my scribbles and half-baked ideas, and flipped to a fresh page. At the top, in my most serious handwriting, I wrote:
OPERATION: FIND THE TRUTH
Below that, I started listing what we actually knew. This was the hard part. It’s easy to have hunches and feelings, but facts were a different story.
