The mercury sphere shatters, engulfing the group in a waking vision. Elias confronts his father's creation, a sentient construct that reveals the true price of the heart: not blood, but the willingness to be unmade and remade. Leo sees Elias make a choice that changes everything.
The white light did not fade. It became the world.
Leo blinked, or tried to. His eyes were open, but there was nothing to see except a vast, silver emptiness that stretched in every direction. No walls. No ceiling. No floor beneath his feet, yet he stood, weightless and anchored at once.
"Elias?" His own voice sounded muffled, as if spoken underwater.
