The rope came from Corbin's pack—coiled, new, and smelling of tar. He handed it to Elias with a flourish that suggested he had been waiting for an excuse to produce it.
"Fifty feet," Corbin said. "Braided hemp. Will hold three men, possibly four if we don't swing."
Elias tested the knot with a tug. "You carry rope into underground chambers often?"
