The air crackled with an energy both alluring and terrifying, a siren song of the unknown that Leo, despite his growing trepidation, couldn't resist. Whisker, usually so composed, pressed herself against his leg, her tail twitching with an unease that mirrored his own. The portal before them pulsed with a malevolent, infernal red, a stark contrast to the fleeting blues and greens they had encountered. It looked less like a doorway and more like a wound in reality, bleeding raw, molten light.

"This one feels… different, Whisker," Leo murmured, his voice barely above a whisper. "Not like the others."

Whisker let out a low, rumbling purr that did little to soothe the knot in Leo's stomach. "Different is an understatement, Leo. It smells of brimstone and despair. Are you sure about this?"
