Unbeknownst to Leo, a formidable rival named 'God,' the ultimate monster from hell, has been watching. He awaits Leo's entry into the tenth portal to reveal himself and challenge him.
The blue glow of the portal pulsed with a serene, inviting rhythm, a stark contrast to the violent crimson that had been the hallmark of their recent escapes. Leo, heart thudding with a mixture of hope and trepidation, glanced at Whisker. The cat, usually a bundle of twitching whiskers and judgmental stares, was unusually still, her emerald eyes wide, reflecting the calming azure light.
"This one feels... different," Leo murmured, his voice barely a whisper. He ran a hand over the smooth, cool surface of the portal, a sensation utterly unlike the searing heat or the unsettling stickiness of the others.
Whisker let out a soft chirp, a sound that Leo had come to interpret as cautious agreement. "Different is often a prelude to something far worse, Leo," she purred, her voice a low rumble in his ear. "Or perhaps, just perhaps, it's a prelude to an actual home."
