The air in the Emerald Kingdom was thick with the scent of strange blossoms and the hum of unseen energies. Bianca, her heart still thrumming with the recent, terrifying escape from the Shadow Entity, found herself surrounded by the kind faces of the kingdom’s inhabitants, their white robes a stark contrast to the dark fear that had chased them. Yet, even in this sanctuary, a new unease began to creep into her. It wasn't the lingering terror of the entity, but something closer, more insidious. It was the subtle shift in Elias’s demeanor.
He had always been a shadow of her own popularity, a friendly face in the periphery, content to bask in the reflected glow of her social standing. Now, however, that shadow seemed to stretch and distort, twisting into something unfamiliar. He moved differently, his eyes no longer holding the easy camaraderie they once did. They darted, assessing, calculating.
"Are you alright, Bianca?" Sarah whispered, her voice laced with concern. She had been clinging to Bianca’s side since their arrival, her usual bubbly effervescence dampened by the ordeal.
