The air in the Emerald Kingdom was thick with the scent of unknown blossoms, a heady perfume that did little to soothe the gnawing unease in Bianca’s stomach. Sunlight, filtered through leaves the color of polished jade, dappled the path ahead, illuminating the determined stride of their small band. Behind them, the glittering spires of the city receded, a beautiful, fragile illusion that had offered them temporary sanctuary. Now, the true journey began.

Bianca walked at the head, her classmates a nervous, chattering cluster behind her. Their initial awe of the white-clad beings and their luminous city had long since faded, replaced by a primal fear that clung to them like the damp forest air. The Shadow Entity. The name itself was a whisper of dread, a phantom that had stalked their every step since they’d tumbled into this world. It was a presence, a palpable darkness that coiled just beyond their sight, its hunger a cold weight on their souls.

As they ventured deeper into the whispering woods, a peculiar sensation began to prickle at Bianca’s senses. It started subtly, like a forgotten melody half-heard on the wind. Then, images flickered at the edges of her vision – fleeting, disjointed. A hand, strong and warm, reaching for hers. A child’s laughter, bright and clear, echoing in a space that felt both familiar and alien. A pang of longing, sharp and unexpected, for something she couldn’t name.
