The air in Lumina, usually a balm of soft luminescence and hushed whispers, felt heavy. Bianca stood on the balcony of the prince’s solar, the wind, an unseen hand, tugging at the unfamiliar silken robes that now adorned her. Below, the city of Lumina shimmered, a tapestry of pearlescent towers and gardens that pulsed with a gentle, inner light. It was a kingdom of breathtaking beauty, of people with hair like spun moonlight and eyes that held the wisdom of ages. Yet, for Bianca, it was also a cage, albeit a gilded one.

The prince, Liam, stood beside her, his presence a quiet anchor. His white tunic, impeccably tailored, seemed to absorb the very light around him, making him appear both solid and ethereal. His hair, a cascade of silver, framed a face carved from pure nobility, his eyes, the color of a twilight sky, fixed on the horizon. He had spoken of destiny, of threads woven into a grand tapestry, and Bianca felt those threads tightening around her, pulling her in directions she couldn't yet comprehend.

"It is a heavy burden, is it not?" Liam’s voice was a low murmur, as if he could hear the turmoil churning within her. "To know that your choices ripple not only through your own life, but through the lives of many others."
