“You are troubled, Bianca,” he said, his voice a low melody that seemed to resonate within her very bones. He didn’t ask; he stated, a gentle certainty that stripped away any pretense.
Bianca traced the intricate silver embroidery on the armrest of her chair, her fingers finding a strange comfort in its cool, smooth texture. “It’s… a lot to process, Your Highness.” She still stumbled over the title, a remnant of the formality that clung to this world like the white robes of its inhabitants.
