Eve reveals the Grey Lady was a dark wizard under the Silent One. They enter the stone circle and defeat a grey-faced wizard and his followers. The mist clears, revealing the Silent One on an obsidian dais. He taunts Adam about killing Prince Rose of Shade and threatens to sever Ally. Adam stands firm. The Silent One unleashes a wave of black energy, and the family braces for the real battle.
The stone circle loomed before them, its pillars dark with age and slick with moisture. Eve slowed as they reached the edge, her hand raised in a signal to halt.
“The Grey Lady,” she said, her voice low, “was one of the Silent One’s high priestesses. There are dozens like her—dark wizards who pledged their souls to his cause. They serve as his eyes, his hands, his traps.”
Adam’s grip tightened on his staff. The gold and green light still pulsed along its length, warm against the cold mist. “How many more before we reach him?”
