Chapter 20
The Throne-Given Wand
Adam and Ally deepen their bond, sharing a moment of mutual recognition that they have found home in each other. Grandmother calls Adam to the sacred cavern and gifts him a wand made from her throne that can change into any form and be worn as a watch. Returning to the estate, Adam begins training with his parents: Kael teaches combat and potion-brewing, while Eve guides him in spell-craft. By night's end, Adam is exhausted but surrounded by family, preparing for the Gathering of Princes.
The moon cast silver light across the path as Adam, Ally, and Eve left the Wand Chamber behind. Eve walked ahead, her silver hair flowing like a banner, giving them space. Adam's hand found Ally's, and she squeezed it gently.
"You looked disappointed in there," Ally said softly. "But I felt something when you touched that last wand. It wasn't rejection. It was… waiting, like Eve said."
Adam kicked a pebble off the path. "Maybe. But I wanted to feel chosen."
