The Path Seer
Adam trains with Ally Tanner, deepening their soulmate bond as she teaches him to channel life energy from the world. Grandmother summons them both to the sacred cavern, where she reveals the nature of paths—past, present, future, and what-if threads—and shows Adam the multiverse of worlds that wizards are responsible to maintain. She grants him the mark of the Path Seer, allowing him to see the crossroads others have walked. They emerge to find the Silent One is moving, setting up the final days before the Gathering.
The morning sun climbed higher, casting long shadows across the standing stones. Adam stood beside Ally Tanner, her hand still warm in his. The golden light of her magic had settled into his chest, a steady pulse that matched his heartbeat.
“Energy is the fifth element,” Ally said, releasing his hand. “But it is also the first. Every other element—fire, water, earth, air—is a form of energy. You already know how to draw on them. Now I will teach you to draw on yourself.”
She placed her palm on his sternum. “Close your eyes. Feel the current inside you. Not your heartbeat. Not your breath. The current that makes you alive.”
